Frequently asked questions.
What is an Immerse In Expedition?
An Immerse In expedition means traveling with purpose. Our expeditions reimagine the idea of travel and tourism. Immerse In expeditions blend sightseeing with in-depth community engagement, culminating in a photobook you co-create with locals. And when you get home, you can share your story with your friends and family with the book you’ve developed about the new place and people you have discovered.
When and where were the last expeditions?
Immerse In conducted its first expedition to the district of Kutch in the western part of India. Six traveler, including photographers, artists, communications professionals, and writers traveled in January 2020. In India, they visited forts and palaces, ate delicious locally made foods, and relaxed on the beach. More significantly, they interacted with the local community and learned their stories of surviving a devastating natural disaster. Together they all collaborated through writing and photography to produce a photobook: “Stories of Earthquake Survivors in Bhuj.”
